Rules For Entrance Test

  1. Conduct of Test
    1. The Entrance Test (E.T.) will be conducted at CSJM University, Kanpur

    2. The Examination hall will open 30 minutes before the commencement of ET.

    3. Candidates are expected to take their seats 15 minutes before the commencement of the examination.

    4. Only those candidates are allowed to sit in the entrance test hall who possess the admit card and they are required to sit on the allotted seat.

    5. A candidate coming after 30 minutes of commencement of ET will not be permitted to appear in the test.

    6. A candidate will not be allowed to carry any textual material printed or hand written except the Admit Card with them inside the examination hall [candidate will not be allowed to carry calculators, log table, etc.]

    7. No candidate will be allowed to leave the examination hall till the ET is over.

    8. No candidate should go outside the examination hall without handing over their ET booklet alongwith the Answer sheet to the invigilator on duty.

    9. Candidates are expected to bring their own Ball Pen, HB Pencils, Sharpener and Eraser.

    10. Talking , Smoking, Tea, Coffee, Cold Drinks or Snacks are not allowed in the E.T. hall.

    11. Candidate are advised not to resort to make use of any unfair means. Candidates found guilty of using unfair means will be disqualified for the course.

    12. Those candidates who are unable to appear on the scheduled date of Test for any reason, re-examination shall not be conducted by the University under any circumstances.

  2. Procedure To be Followed in the Entrance Test

    1. Ten minutes before the commencement of the E.T. each candidate will be given sealed Test Booklet and Answer Sheet placed inside it.

    2. Immediately on receipt of the test booklet the candidate has to fill the required particulars on the cover page of the Test Booklet with Ball Pen only.

    3. Candidates are required not to open the Test Booklet unless asked to do so by the invigilator in the examination hall.

    4. The test will start at the time mentioned in the Admit Card and an announcement to this effect will be made by the invigilator.

    5. The invigilator will check the Admit Card of the candidate to verify the bonafides of the candidates. The invigilator will also put his/her signature in the place provided in the answer sheet.

    6. After completing the test and before handling over the script to the invigilator the candidates are required to check their entries in the test booklet and also the answer sheet to ensure all particulars are correctly mentioned.

    7. Rough work or calculations must be done in the blank space given in the Test Booklet. No extra paper will be used for calculation or rough work.

  3. Entrance Test Questions

    1. The E.T. Booklet will contain questions for each course.

    2. Entrance Test Booklet will contain the multiple choice questions with 4 alternatives. The candidate will indicate his/her response to the question by darkening the appropriate circle completely. For example Question No. 15 in the Text Booklet reads as follows :
                   15. Taj Mahal is situated at
                         1. Delhi
                         2. Bombay
                         3. Agra
                         4. Lucknow
      The correct response to this question is 3 'Agra'. The candidate will locate Question No. 15 in the answer sheet and darken the circle/square 3 as shown below :

                   

      If the candidate does not want to attempt any question he/she would not touch the circle given against that question.

  4. Evaluation of Script

    1. Each question carries one mark. For each correct answer the candidate will get four marks. These will be no negative marking.
      No deduction will be made if no response is indicated for the questions in the answer sheet.
      More than one Answer/Response indicated against any question will be deemed as an incorrect response.

    2. The Answer Sheet is specially designed so that it can be read by the computerised Optical Mark Reader (OMR) and the relevant information therefrom is captured and processed fast. Therefore the candidates are required to carefully go through the instructions given in the Test Booklet.

  5. Declaration of Result
    The University will conduct the examination, evaluate the answer sheet and prepare the result. The merit and waiting lists will be prepared. Results will be published in leading newspapers and on the notice board of Institute of Business Management of C.S.J.M. University, Kanpur.

  6. Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI)
    Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) of candidates will be held at Institute of Business Management of C.S.J.M. University, Kanpur. Only limited candidates (normally 3 candidates against one seat after successfully completing the written test based on merit will be called for GDs & Pls.

  7. Entrance Test Contents
    There is no specific exhaustive list of course contents for the test. However questions may appear from the broad aspects, as one paper containing multiple choice questions to judge quantitative analytical ability, English Comprehension, general and business awareness, current, affairs, career aptitude, etc.

USE OF TEST BOOK LETS DURING ENTRANCE TEST

  1. Do not open test booklet unless you are asked to do so.
  2. This test is of one and half hours duration. Time will be counted after you have been asked to open the Test Booklet and start the test.

  3. Immediately on opening the Test Booklet the candidate will check up this Booklet and ensure that it contains all the pages and that no question is missing. Discrepancy, if any, should be reported by the candidate to the invigilator within 15 minutes of the opening of the booklet so that test booklet may be changed.

  4. The candidate shall be careful in handling the question-paper and in marking the answers on the answer-chart. The second booklet will not be given even if the first one is spoiled.

  5. The Test Booklet contains 50 questions. The candidate is expected to answer all 50 questions. 4 marks will be awarded for every correct answer and there is no negative marking.

INSTRUCTION FOR MARKING IN ANSWER SHEET DURING ENTRANCE TEST

  1. Use HB pencila only for marking.

  2. Mark should be dark and fill the oval completely.

  3. Darken only one oval for each question as shown in the example below.

    If you wish to change an answer, erase completely the already darkened oval and mark fresh mark.

  4. Make the marks only in the spaces provided. Please do not make any stray marks on the answer sheet.

  5. Rough work must not be done on the answer booklet. Use rough sheets provided in the question-booklet.

  6. Mark your answer only in the appropriate oval against the corresponding number to the question you are answering for each section.
